We are starting a new year-long fundraising venture. It is called Scrip. Some of you may know exactly what this is and some may not. I will try to clear up whatever questions you may have.

Basically, you order gift cards just like we’ve been ordering the Lowe’s Foods gift cards. And just like Lowe’s Foods, Scrip returns a percentage of the gift card value to us, which is split evenly between your student and the band. Scrip is on a much larger scale though, working with a variety of businesses: gas stations like BP, department stores like Belk, restaurants like Applebee’s, fast food stores like Burger King, online stores like LLBean, etc. The list is quite extensive. It is very easy and can be a great way to budget your expenses.

Fruit Sale

The annual fruit sale will continue through November 25th - all orders and money are due on that day. Delivery is scheduled for the week of December 15th.

Carolina Hurricanes Fundraiser

This fundraiser will continue through November 21st. This is a great opportunity to buy hockey tickets at a discount for three games early next year - against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Buffalo Sabres and the New York Rangers - two of the games are Bobblehead Giveaway Nights. You, your friends, family and co-workers can purchase Lower Level tickets that cost $70 at the gate for $49 and $10 is donated to the band -- Upper Level tickets that cost $35 at the gate are yours for $29 with $7 being donated to the band. Click the link to print an order form and flyer - all the information that you need is on it. Collect payment (checks - made out to HSHS Band Boosters) at time of order - all tickets will be mailed to the customer's address so please make sure it is legible. Yankee Candle Fundraiser

The Yankee Candle Fundraiser will begin on Tuesday, September 2nd and end on Tuesday, September 16th. Envelopes containing the Fall 2008 brochures as well as order forms will be distributed during class Tuesday, September 2nd. Checks should be made payable to Holly Springs High School Band Boosters and we DO NOT collect TAX. All orders must be turned in by Tuesday, September 16th. We can expect delivery sometime between October 21st and November 4th.

Be sure to link your Harris Teeter and Food Lion cards to the Holly Springs High Band Boosters, or let us do it for you! Contact Janet Henke at msugrad at nc dot rr dot com with your name, phone number and card number, and she can get you linked. Or use code 6427 at the Harris Teeter website, and visit the Food Lion website and select Holly Springs HS Band Boosters.

Anyone interested in purchasing Lowe's Food Gift Cards should contact Joyce Bubar at jbubar at bellsouth dot net for information.

The Food Lion card does not have to be relinked every year, but the Harris Teeter one does.
